Car Parking charges to remain unaltered

RDC have held car parking charges unaltered after strong representations from three Chambers of Trade. In view of the economic situation.

Good news except that the “day rate” increases from £4 to £5 which is a 25% increase! Which shop/office workers will have to pay.

Also we all asked for the half hour rate to be brought back which has not happened. Especially useful for places like Hockley where customers want to “pop in” to Post Office, Bank etc.

So I got the Yellow Advertiser down for the story in next week’s paper. The YA have given permission for us to use enclosed photo on our website.

Photo shows left to right – Ajay Desai from Post Office, Andrew Wells from Solicitors, Wells Legal and Jeff Stanton, Waters and Stanton and Chairman of HCTC offering 30 pence for half hour parking charge.
