2009 Christmas Lights in Hockley

Details for this years light up on 28th November

Because of Leap Years the actual day of the Hockley Lights has been getting steadily earlier

So this year the organizing committee have decided to move the day back a week later to Saturday, 28th November which seems a more appropriate date. The lights will be switched on at 7pm by Sue Harrison from Heart SX.

SPA ROAD WILL BE CLOSED TO ROAD TRAFFIC FROM 5.30pm – 9.30pm.

The organizers are already planning the best event yet to entertain the 4,000 visitors who are expected to attend

ENTERTAINMENT

Other attractions :

• Essex Air Ambulance will have a stall at Hockley Lights sat 28th November. Please give generously
• Heart SX radio personality Su Harrison will switch on the Lights at 7pm assisted by Southend midfielders, Jean-Francois Christophe and Francis Laurent
• Marion & Lindsey will have a hog roasting in the Spa Road butchers shop
• Plumberow primary school will have a choir of 100 children singing at the Lights
• The Heart SX Angels will be at the Lights with free gifts for all
• Santa will be in his Grotto in Potters shop
• Michelle is bringing her Newfoundland dogs to the Lights
• Make a donation next door to Guide Dogs for the Blind
• Kevin at Somerfields will be donating hundreds of mince pies to the event
• Get a free cuppa and mince pie at the Rayleigh Lions stall. Make a small donation if you wish
• John Smeeth will bring the Crouch Valley scouts to the Lights
• Visit the Shop at my Local stall outside Seemore Glass
• St John Ambulance and Hawkwell Fire Brigade will be in attendance
• Craft stalls and funfair rides in Spa Road, Hockley
