Chairman's report

This year we held our annual dinner at the Shepherd and Dog pub on Tuesday, 6th February. We welcomed 26 guests and members to a very enjoyable 3-course dinner.

Chairman Jeff Stanton thanked Richard Amner for making the arrangements.

Also his thanks went to many members for help throughout the year including Parish Councillor Shirley James, Derek & Barbara Foster, Keith Randall, Paul & Sue Taylor, Tony Chase from Seemore Glass, Martin Harris from Barclays Bank and Keith Fullick from Weave-a-web.

We welcomed two visitors from Rayleigh Chamber of Trade. Carl Watson and Martin Hodson. Martin will be talking about CCTV cameras at our next meeting.

Also Ken Wickham with his wife Pam from the Federation of Small Businesses. Ken will also be talking at next meeting.

Our very active policeman Steve Joynes took a lot of flak about the latest spate of graffiti and youth damage which was concerning members and we hope he can update us about the one persistent offender at our next meeting”
