Countdown to amazing Rotary Concert.
The Rotary Club of Rayleigh Mill is already organising its concert in the park.
For the twelth year running the ever popular June event in Priory Park.
Following on from last years success with a complete sell out this years weekend music festival is set to break all records with two consecutive nights of entertainment.
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with David Arnold conducting will provide the entertainment on the Saturady. This is true "Last night of The Proms" with everyone bringing along their picnics and joining in the atmosphere with flag waving and singing.
Final negotiations are taking place before we can confirm the line up for the Sunday but last year was Jools Holland and the previous year saw Showadywaddy, The Foundationa and The Mersey Beats.
The organisers Rotarty Club of Rayleigh Mill was formed twelve years ago and consists of a variety of local businessmen and residents. It is a purely voluntary organization. Due to its dedication and hard work the club has managed to raise over £250,000 for worthy causes.
Last year alone saw a grand total of over £45,000 which was put to excellent use. We have two committees who discuss where the money will go.
One fund spends the money locally on all sorts of deserving causes. This year alone we have supported a local church, Little Havens, Fairhavens, The Essex Autistic Society, Mayday Mobile, A local School unit for the hearing impaired, The Elizabeth Fitzroy Homes, Timber Grove, Scouts, Southend General Hospital and many more.
This year the concert will be on Saturday June 23rd and Sunday June 24th.
Tickets will be available in advance from our web site www.rotary-club.org.uk or by telephone on 01702 353599
