On Thursday 24th April the Hockley Retail Against Crime scheme was launched outside Somerfield’s store in Spa Road, Hockley

Over the past few months several shops in Hockley have suffered spates of shoplifting. In response to this our local PC Steve Joynes arranged a collaboration between Rochford Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership, Hockley Chamber of Trade & Commerce, Neighbourhood Watch & the Hockley Neighbourhood Policing Team.

The Police have made available to several shops in Hockley the details & photos of known local convicted thieves so that staff can be aware of these people.

The event was covered by the Echo newspaper and supported by Parish Councillors, Police and local businesses.
