 About the chamber

Memberwatch

We have made steady progress since 2002, increasing membership by 50%

The Hockley Chamber of Trade and Commerce was set up in 1989 and now has over 60 members, traders from most of the shops in the town

We are an association of local businesses that have the common aim of supporting one another and representing our combined interests in the community

The Hockley Traders Association, as it was originally known, was first set up to provide Christmas lights and still continually expands this display but also works on ways to improve the town

The HCTC is continually campaigning for its parking and also raising funds through different events

We receive no public funding and rely entirely on the subscriptions of our members to operate

All of our Officers give their time on a voluntary basis

The benefits of membership give individual businesses the opportunity to be represented within one group. Being non-political the Chamber can support or oppose any authority whose activities affect the business community

The Chamber has an Executive Committee of members who meet monthly and review planning applications, traffic management, town centre issues and discuss business development and promotional opportunities within the village

We liaise with Rochford Borough Council on key issues which affect the business life of Hockley

A number of social functions are held where members have a chance to socialise and network together

Our subscription fee is just £20 per year, so why not join us now?
